The Alfa Romeo 6C name was used on road, race, and sports cars produced between 1927 and 1954 by Alfa Romeo; the "6C" name refers to the car's straight-six engine.

In 1923 Enzo Ferrari persuaded Vittorio Jano to leave FIAT's racing department and join him at Alfa Romeo.

The Tipo 6C 1750 arrived in 1929 boasting a 1,752cc six cylinder engine. Built in single-cam Turismo and twin-cam Sport (later renamed Gran Turismo) variants, the 6C 1750 was a fast touring car combining light weight with sparkling performance with more than 75mph being attainable, depending on coachwork. There was also a supercharged 'SS' version (which later evolved into the 'GS'), only 52 examples of which were made.
