The Citroën Dyane is an car produced by the French automaker Citroën from 1967 to 1983. The design was based on the Citroën 2CV, a car it was meant to replace.
As with the 2CV, the engine was air-cooled, with a hemispherical combustion chamber and flat-topped pistons. The Dyane was launched with the 2CV's 425cc engine fitted. The "Dyane 6" was announced at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1968, fitted with a 602cc engine. This came with an advertised maximum output of 28bhp supporting a claimed top speed of 115 km/h which was a useful improvement over the 21 bhp of power and the claimed top speed of 100 km/h with which it had been launched.
In 1977 a panel van version derived from the Dyane was launched, called the Acadiane.
Production of the Dyane ceased in 1983, seven years before the car it was intended to replace.
1,443,583 were manufactured.
