Pontiac responded to the rising demand for medium sized muscle cars (Pony Cars) with the Firebird.
Based on Chevy’s Camero the Firebird was pure Pontiac though trimmed more upscale and priced a little higher with optional power plants all the way to a 325hp V-8.
