The Mercedes-Benz W120 was an inline-four cylinder sedan made from 1953 to 1962. The model associated with the W120 chassis code was the 180. It used the 1.8L engine from the Mercedes-Benz 170Sb until 1957.

The Mercedes-Benz W121 was an 1.9L inline-four cylinder sedan made from 1956 to 1961 and is associated with the 190 line of cars.

In 1957 the 180 range received the 1.9L engine from the 190 range. Various diesel versions of the 180 were also available between 1953 and 1962.

A related roadster variant, the R121, better known as the 190SL, was produced from 1955 to 1963.

In the Mille Miglia of 2009 this car was driven by the team of Perotto (IT) & Ellena (IT).
