Picture dated February 2009
The Plymouth Duster is a semi-fastback two-door version of the compact-sized Plymouth Valiant automobile that was marketed by Plymouth in the U.S. from 1970 to 1976 model years.
The design incorporated a semi-fastback roof and a special rear valance with twin horizontal taillights, unusual for having no bezels. The door glass was operated by a totally new regulator mechanism, required to fit the much more radical tumblehome (reduced side glass radius), and the windshield was more steeply raked.
The Duster was an instant hit: almost a quarter million sold in 1970 alone. Advertised at 275 hp, the informed-user consensus had it pegged at more like 325+. Maximum revs: 6,000. Weight: 3110 lb. Six second zero to sixty, and the quarter mile in 14.5 @ 99 mph.
